Antique Stone/Marble Large Foo Dogs/Guardian Lions
Beautiful very old Antique Foo Dogs. These are carved from Green Jade Color Marble, Foo Dogs(also called Guardian Lions) ward off bad spirits and protect entrances with their fierce appearance. The Male has a ball under foot to represent strength and power while the female has a cub underfoot to represent care and nurturing.
Foo Dogs must be placed together. This creates a balance of the Yin-and-Yang forces. Huge statues of Foo Dogs would beautify a front door (of a home or office), garden or outdoor spaces when placed on the either side. The female (that has its paws on a baby lion) must be placed on the left side of the door, as you face towards it from the outside. The male (laying its paws on a ball) should be placed on the other side, Ensure they do not face each other. Do not place them in separate rooms.
Because of their protective symbolism, foo dogs seem especially appropriate in places where they are sure to be noticed. Place a pair on a console in the foyer, or make them a focal point of the living room atop the mantel. Foo dogs also work well as decorative bookends, and look stunning placed at either end of a buffet in a dining room.
