USCG Lifeboat Water Container circa 1941
Super RARE antique Coast Guard Depot 3 Gallon Monel Alloy Water Container with Screw-on Lid. This water can was probably used on a lifeboat or maybe rescue vessel. It has been very hard to get information on this piece because of its rarity. Monel Alloy is an extremely high grade strong alloy used in marine applications due to its resistance to corrosive seawater.

The can is in great condition with 1 shallow dent on the side(see photo). Inside is clean. Cap threads perfectly
The container measures 12" in diameter x 8-1/2" tall to the top of the handle and weighs over 8 lbs.
So this is a very special U.S. Coast Guard piece and I have found only one other example after hours of internet searching that was sold back in 2016(that one was buffed and this one is unmolested original). There are no others that I am aware of which makes sense base on the low serial number. This could possibly be the last remaining one in existence.
This fine nautical maritime artifact would make a fabulous addition to any fine collection, display, museum where it can be seen and appreciated.
