Table Lamps Mid-Century Modern w/ paper shades, c1940-50's
These lovely lamps hail from the late 40's- early 1950s, a time when Mid-Century Modern minimalism was at its peak. This pair of refined lamps feature a uniquely rare invisible twist-switch on the lamp neck that allows for three levels of lighting. Original wiring, as far as I know, with no known repairs to mar the vintage originality.These lamps can sway from mid-century modern to hollywood glam, to bohemian chic. These are simply standout statement pieces. The resin paper shades feature a wire frame that fits snugly into the lamp frame. The hand tied resin paper is whip-stitched to the wire frame. The shades themselves have a slight nostalgic fifties pattern when the lamps are not lit. These lamps are absolutely stunning and look fantastic when lit! One weak spot on a shade, loose connection on the frame, bleeding from the resin color, but overall excellent condition! Brass ferrals Wear: GREAT vintage condition - Condition 9.0/10 The condition is great considering their age and they work perfectly! They are in really great vintage condition with some age related wear visible and some bleeding on the shade. See photos. This is common with age. I am younger than the lamps and they have aged much better! Collectable as individuals, rare as an intact set! In the 40 years I have owned them I have not been able to find an identical pair of mid-century lamps, spectacular! Must have. price is for the pair.
