Antique Swiss 10 Melody Cylinder Music Box
Fabulous and rare find is this incredible Swiss 10 Melody Cylinder Music Box from the late 1800s' The sound from this very special music box fills the room with its wonderful tunes. It operates and plays as it should. All the teeth for the comb are original and intact. The mechanism plays 10 different songs and can be set to play in order or to repeat the current song. The top has a beautiful inlay in the wood. The case is in generally excellent condition. The rear panel of the box has been repaired by a gifted craftsman so the hinges work perfectly. It does not diminish the overall appearance. The inside glass lid looks great but at some point had an older repair. Again it does not really impact the appearance. The box hinges and body are solid and in excellent condition even considering the above repairs. After all this music box is about 130 years old. It will easily bring many more generations of incredible musical bliss. Do not miss this very unique and special antique. It needs a fine home where it can be appreciated.
